I like reading because it is fun. Now I read chapter books. I love Junie B. Jones books. Before Kindergarten I couldn't read. So mom, dad, grandma and grandpa read to me. When grandma and grandpa read to me, they read Chinese books. I started with picture books in kindergarten. I started chapter books in first grade. My class in first grade only have one chapter book. In pictures books I read about geckos, learning, princess, the seasons, and all kinds of things like eels and fish. In chapter books I read Junie B. Jones, Cam Jansen, The secret of droon, Magic Tree house, Magic School Bus and Ramona. My favorite is Junie B. Jones because Junie B. is very funny.

There are a lot of Junie B. Jones books, like Junie B. Jones of ouch, dumb bunny, is not a crook, is almost a flower girl, one man band, cheater pants, boo ....... and I mean it!, meanie Jim's Birthday, stupid smelly bus and other books. What I like about Junie B. is that she is funny. The author's name is Barbara Park. I like Barbara because her books are funny. I love Barbara's Junie B. Jones books. She is one of the funniest authors ever. Barbara lives in Arizona. The books are all about Junie B.'s time in school, parties and other places like the neighborhood.

So far I have read was Junie B., Magic Tree House, Magic School Bus， The Secrete of Droon, Can Janson and Ramona. I plan to read Harry Potty next. I actually finished the first Harry Potty book. My parents expect me to reach the fourth grade reading level. My teacher wants me to reach a higher reading level even I am only in the second grade. I think I can do that.

Light Festival

Yesterday we went to the light festival. The light festival was comes every year. There are tunnels of lights. When you get in, you have to pay. The park charged us 12 dollars. We go little cards with bells on them too. You can take the bell off by ripping the bell out. I didn't remember what was on the card.

There were lots of Christmas trees there. There are little trees. There are big trees. They are all made of lights. We saw trees of lights when we just got in the park. All the trees have green leaves made of lights. I saw three trees together too.

There are a lot of tunnels of lights. There are different colors of tunnels. There are blue tunnels. There are white, red, and white and blue close up tunnels. All cars drive through the tunnel very slowly because if the cars drive too fast, the people in the car won't get a good look at the lights. One tunnel has a nest on top of it.

We also saw soldiers, deer, a peacock, ducks in the waters, a dragon, a man in a boat in the water, an eagle, a snowman, candies, light bulbs, a owl, penguins, an igloo, Santa Clause, an elephant with presents, a jack jumping out of box, and some reindeer. All of them were made of lights. Kathy cried out whatever she saw out of her window. Everyone of us was happy. Kathy didn't remember the lights from last year because she was little then. In the candy land, the gingerbread man was there. There were candy canes, lolly pops candy wrapped up the little circle of pepper mint. Also a candy house and a gingerbread house. In the teddy bear land, we saw lots of teddy bears made of light. All the teddy bears were playing. There was a hug sign at the entrance of the Teddy Bear Land that said "Teddy Bear Land". There was a teddy mommy and a teddy daddy made of lights too. All the teddy bears were made out of brown lights.

I wish we could go there again for a longer time. I made of necklace out of the bell. I fell asleep in the car on the way back home. I made a necklace for Kathy too. I asked Kathy one thing we saw at the festival. Kathy said a snowman. Today Kathy can not find her necklace. Kathy's necklace has a silver bell, and mine has a red bell. Kathy and I put our bells in the bath tub last night to play.

My Weekend

Today I went to the piano practice. Piano practice is when you practice your piano songs. A piano is an instrument that you sit down and play in front of it. A piano is played with your fingers. It has white keys and black keys. You plan the keys with your fingers. The white keys are called natural keys. They are the bottom lines. The black keys are called sharps and flats. The sharps are on the right of the bottom keys, and the flats are on the left. The black key are on the first line.

I played with Alex until piano time. Alex tried to play Jingle Bells. I said that does not sound like the Jingle Bells. Alex made up a new game. It is called "Sawed the Trees". Then he tried to saw me with his arms. I did too. We both got on the base. Base is the railing of the stairs that lead to upstairs. I sawed the parents with my arms. Alex made up another game called Smash. We pretended to smash things.

Then we had to play the songs. We played "Ode of Joy". Then we played the scales. We played the C manger scale and the D manger scale. We learned how to play the first part of Jingle Bells. I played the first part of the Jingle Bells. After that we played UNO.

At the UNO game, I was in second place a lot of times. When you get one card left, you say UNO. There are different cards. There are skip cards. There are draw two cards. There are change the cold cards. There are a lot of number cards. I play UNO a lot of times.

When my mom came back, Alex's dad told mom that I didn't play well. I think Alex played better than me. I wanted to play like Alex. Mom talked to me in the car. She said that I should practice "Ode of Joy". Then she said to write in my journal about anything I want.

My Birthday Party

Problem solution way to read a journal.

Characters;
The characters are Kathy, Mom, Dad and me. Kathy is my little sister. Mom is named Sherry. Dad is named Steve. Kathy is 2 years old. Mom is XX years old. Dad is XX years old. I am 7 years old. My name is Sarah.

Setting;
The setting is at the AMF Bowling ally. It is day time. It was cold outside. The clouds were in the sky. It was a little dark outside. The sky was gray.

Problem;
There were no goodies bags. My Dad thought that AMF already had goodies bags. AMF said that they only give bags for the goodies. I had to wait so long for 11:00 to come. I was bored. While I waiting, I bowled by myself.

Solution;
Mom went out to buy goodies to fit the goodies bags. She bought Hello Kitty bags. Everybody got the same thing. After Yeikela arrived at my party, other people came. Deigo, Kathrine, and Alex all came. While we were bowling, mom and her friends packed the goodies bags.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my seventh birthday. On your birthday you have a party. You also get presents. I like the presents. On your party you get to invite anyone you like. You also get to eat cake. Other people sing happy birthday and you get to blow out the candles. I am seven now.

Last night we had a small party at home. My mom brought a fruit cake. A fruit cake is a cake with fruit on the cake and inside the cake. I love the strawberries the most. Kathy ate a grape and spitted it out because it was sour. We still have some more cake saved. I only got a little piece of the cake.

I got to put on the candles. There were only five in on bag. So I got two more candles from the other bag. Then we waited for mom to come downstairs. After that, mom, dad and Kathy sang happy birthday to me. When they finished, Kathy almost blew out the candles. I stopped her. I blew out the candles. The candles were colorful. I licked two of them on the bottoms.

The party was fun. But I didn't get any presents. I really want ear rings. I'm going to have another big party at AMF Bowling Ally this Saturday. I'm going to have a bigger cake. Daddy said that I can wear ear rings when I'm eight.

Pajama Party

Yesterday my class has a pajama party. Most of the class already had parties. A pajama party is when you bring pajamas to school, at noon you dress into it and do something else. Sometime you eat, and sometimes you watch a movie.

At school my class changed into our pajamas before lunch. Almost everybody brought their pajamas. Some didn't bring pajamas because they didn't have any. My pajamas matches. My top had flowers on the sleeves and princesses on the front. My pants has flowers on it.

The choices for pizza were pepperoni or cheese. I got pepperoni. At table three, Jeremy said pepperoni was better. Kesean said cheese was better and he got cheese.

My class watched Lady and The Tramp. Lady and Tramp were both characters in a cartoon. The movie was so long that we could not finish it. We watched the movie while we ate pizza. We watched it when we packed up. But we were too loud so Ms. Roshan turned the movie off.

Halloween

Yesterday was Halloween. At my school we had Halloween party. All of us brought out costumes to school. At Halloween nights, we go trick or treating. When you trick or treat, you say "trick or treat" to get candies. Some people trick or treat at houses, and some people trick or treat in the malls.

When we had a party at school, we had a parade in our customs on the playground. I was the little mermaid Ariel. When we got back, we ate cupcakes and juice. When we packed up, we got goodies bags with candies inside from our teacher. At Bar-T, we had a party too. We played musical chairs. I ate candies. We did all of that in our customs.

At home, Kathy changed into her costume so we could go trick or treat. We went to the mall. But Mom wanted to eat first. So we ate at Panda Express. After we ate, we went trick or treating. I only got five or six candies. Kathy got twenty or twenty-two candies. I tried to steal some candies from Kathy. But Kathy started crying. When I let go, she stopped.

Halloween was fun. I wish that everyday was Halloween. Next Halloween I will be a Barbie. My Barbie costume comes with a jacket. I will bring ballet shoes if I can find the other shoe. Now I only have one shoe in the closet. My dress is so long. When I walk up the stairs, I sometimes trap myself. I love Halloween.
